Octavian Blaga, responsible editor of the cultural publication "Signs in balance" of the County Center for Conservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture Bihor, author of several ethnographic studies targeting in particular Crișul Repede area, is a finalist of the International Rolex Awards (Rolex Awards for Enterprise) offered by the famous Swiss manufacturer of luxury watches.
Five Laureate awards, worth $ 100,000 each and a Rolex watch, are given every two years to researchers worldwide. The awards reward innovative projects in environmental protection and medicine, science and technology, traditional culture and historical heritage. The project of the ethnographer in Oradea, chosen from over 3,500 projects, aimed at less known aspects of Romanian traditional medicine in Bihor. The winners will be announced next year and will be awarded in New Delhi, during a ceremony.
